How do I access my accounts?
  • Access the Sign In page located on the Motive Financial website.
  • Enter the last 8 digits of your Client Card Number (PAN) and your password.
  • You’ll enter the verification code that has been sent to the mobile phone associated with your account
  • Click “Continue” to open your Motive profile.
What is multi-factor authentication and do I need to use it?
To ensure your accounts are safe, we’ve integrated Multi-Factor Authentication as a required step when signing in. Multi-Factor Authentication provides enhanced security to ensure our digital banking users are who they say they are. We send you a one-time secure access code via SMS/text or voice message to phone to confirm your identity.
How do I reset my password?
To reset your password, please call us at 1-877-441-2249Monday to Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. MT.
What do I do if I forgot my PAN or Password?
Give us a call at 1-877-441-2249 Monday to Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. MT. An agent will be happy to assist you. Please note you can only attempt to log into your online banking 3 times in one day. You can retry the following day at which time you can make 3 new attempts.
How can I access my new account?
Once you have completed your online application and have been approved, a link will appear on your screen or you'll receive an email from us.

Please check your junk mail if you can't find the email (it's definitely not junk!).

Personal Information

How is my personal information used?
The primary purpose for our collection and use of your personal information is so that we may deliver the products and services you request, and that are suited for your needs. Please review our CWB Financial Group Privacy Statement for more information.
What is my Social Insurance Number Used for?
When applying for an account, we use your SIN to run an Equifax® deposit inquiry. When you have accounts with us, we use your SIN for income tax reporting on the interest you earn. TFSA, RRSP and RRIF applications require a SIN.
Why do I need a security question?
We use your security question to verify it's you over the phone.
Additional security questions will be set up through your online banking and are separate from the questions used in your application.
Is my credit score affected by a credit check?
When you're applying for an account, the check will show up as a "deposit inquiry". This should not impact your credit score.

How is my money protected?

As a Motive client, your chequing, savings and investments are eligible for deposit insurance through Canadian Western Bank, a member of Canada Deposit Insurance Corporation. In the case where a person has eligible deposits through Motive, the $100,000 coverage limit is applied to the aggregate eligible deposits of that person with Motive and CWB.
